Open Source & Attributions

The Remi Blaze Plugin Suite is proprietary software published by Empellex Inc. It includes a small number of third-party components distributed under permissive open-source licenses. The copyright and license notices those components require are reproduced below. Including a component here does not place the Remi Blaze software itself under any of these licenses — each notice applies only to the corresponding component.

The same notices are included as a THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.txt file with each plugin download. This page is provided so the notices are available directly alongside the download on this Site.

Trademark attributions

These are the marks of other companies, referenced only to state compatibility. They are not open-source licenses, and none of the companies below is affiliated with, or endorses, the Remi Blaze Plugin Suite.

AAX SDK (Avid)

The AAX builds of the plugins use the AAX SDK bundled with JUCE (Copyright © 2024 Avid Technology, Inc.). AAX is distributed on macOS only — the Windows build ships VST3, CLAP and a standalone application, contains no AAX component and no part of the AAX SDK, so this notice does not apply to it. The AAX SDK is dual-licensed: it may be used either under the Avid AAX SDK License Agreement or under the GNU General Public License v3.

This software is proprietary and is distributed under the Avid AAX SDK License Agreement, as a registered Avid developer. The GPL v3 option is expressly NOT used. No part of this software is licensed under the GPL, and no source code is made available under it.

JUCE framework

The plugins are built with the JUCE framework under a commercial JUCE license, which imposes no end-user attribution requirement — this entry is provided for completeness. JUCE in turn incorporates further third-party components (for example FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, and zlib) under their own permissive licenses, documented in JUCE's own LICENSE.md.

Inno Setup (Windows installer only)

The Windows .exe installer is built with Inno Setup, so the installer program itself contains Inno Setup's setup engine. Nothing from Inno Setup is installed onto your system, and no part of it is present in the plugins themselves or in the macOS .pkg installer, which is built with Apple's pkgbuild.

Inno Setup is provided under a permissive license granting permission to use it for any purpose, including commercial applications, and to alter and redistribute it, subject to conditions including that redistributions in binary form retain all occurrences of the copyright notice and web site addresses already in place. Those notices are retained unmodified in our installers. The license states that acknowledgment in product documentation “would be appreciated but is not required”; this notice is offered in that spirit.
