WHAT IT DOES
Drop Chopix Raw on a vocal or loop and one big STUTTER knob morphs your audio through 8 syncopated gate rhythms — from a steady 8th-note pulse up to busy 16th-note syncopation — and throws the stereo image wider toward the speaker edges as you turn it up. Level-matched so it gets bigger without jumping in volume. Tempo-synced with a free-running clock (falling back to 120 BPM), so it grooves in time whether or not the transport is rolling. A 5 ms anti-click ramp keeps every chop pop-free, and the plug-in reports zero latency.
THE STUTTER KNOB
STUTTER is a single macro that does two things at once. As you turn it up, the gate rhythm crossfades from a steady 8th-note pulse into complex 16th-note syncopation, and the stereo image widens toward the speaker edges — so "more stutter" always reads as bigger, wider, further out. The gate ceiling never reaches full silence, so there's always body left in the groove. There are no menus, no pattern editing, no manual steps — just turn and go.
UNDER THE HOOD
Always-on tempo-synced gate — an internal free-running clock (120 BPM fallback) drives sample-accurate step resolution with a 5 ms anti-click ramp on every step transition, so it grooves in time whether or not the transport is rolling.
8 morphed 16-step patterns — the two bracketing gate patterns are crossfaded rather than hard-switched, so the STUTTER sweep reads as one continuous rhythm morph.
Mid/side widen + MPC swing — a smoothed mid/side widen (~1.0–1.8×) is applied after gating, and true MPC-style swing delays off-beat 16th-note boundaries by a swing fraction computed in samples so every transition lands sample-exact.
Zero-latency pure audio insert — the gate reports 0 samples of latency (stable across the sweep, including the Sub-Safe path), takes no MIDI, and stays mono-safe by dropping the M/S stage on mono layouts.
Bounded, denormal-safe output — a per-sample sanitize and soft-clip keep no knob position past the 0 dBFS ceiling, re-applied after Sub-Safe re-injects the clean low band, with a click-free crossfade bypass.
