Chopix
Vocal Chop Sequencer
"Turn a sustained vocal into a syncopated, bouncing tech-house chop — a host-synced 16-step gate sequencer with swing, per-step slice modes, micro-tune width, and auto-ducking wash."
Chopix takes any held vocal, loop, or pad and chops it into a tempo-locked, syncopated groove with a single 16-step grid. Dial in swing, per-step slice modes, and a lush auto-ducking wash, then play the rhythm live — a MIDI note snaps the sequence to step 0 and drives the chop while you hold it. A paid vocal chop sequencer for macOS.

FEATURES
The Chop Engine
◆Host-tempo-synced chopper — reads the host transport (BPM + position) and chops the incoming audio in time, turning a sustained note into a bouncing 16th-note rhythm
◆Free-run internal clock — when the transport is stopped or no playhead is available, the chopper keeps grooving (falls back to 120 BPM)
◆MIDI retrigger — a note-on snaps the gate sequence to step 0 and overrides host-sync while held; releases cleanly back to sync on note-off
◆Zero latency — sample-accurate gate, no oversampling, no look-ahead
16-Step Sequencer
◆16 per-step on/off gates with a syncopated bouncing tech-house default pattern; click to toggle, drag the bars for per-step level (accents and ghost notes)
◆Per-step slice MODE via the Buffer Slicer — Gate, Reverse, Tape-Stop, or Stutter, each re-rendered through a dual-pointer circular buffer with a 5 ms crossfade splice
◆Grid resolution 1/8 or 1/16 (default 1/16) — 1/16 spans one bar across the 16 steps; 1/8 spans two
◆Animated grid playhead sweeps in sync with the transport; the active column glows with the live gate gain
Groove & Shape
◆Sample-accurate Swing (0–100%) — MPC-style shuffle that delays off-beat step boundaries to a sample-exact position
◆Per-step AHD envelope — Attack (0.5–50 ms), Hold (0–100%), Decay (1–200 ms) for the plucky vocal-stab bounce, beneath a 5 ms anti-click ramp
◆Per-step Shape — Staccato (sharp gate), Ramp-Up (reverse swell), or Sidechain-Pump (fast-down / slow-up duck), never scaling above 1.0
◆Auto-Pan (0–100%) — a constant-power pan sequencer bounces each step left and right across the grid
Dimension & Space
◆Width — base inter-channel delay spread (0–30 ms) opening the chops into a wide stereo image via dual Lagrange delay lines
◆Micro-Tune (0–100%) — an ultra-slow LFO modulates the two delay times in opposition for lush moving Dimension-D width
◆Mono-safety — the wet image is high-passed above 300 Hz before the cross-mix, so the low-mid fundamental stays centered and sums to mono cleanly
◆Auto-Ducking Wash — a lush parallel reverb + short delay, ducked by an internal sidechain off the dry input so the space blooms in the gaps (Wash Size shapes the time)
Monitoring & Workflow
◆Delta Monitor — hear only the gated-out "ghost" rhythm Chopix removed; a forensic monitor for dialing in the pocket
◆Equal-power Mix dry/wet crossfade, Output trim (−12 to +12 dB), and true Bypass
◆Randomize (RND), A/B snapshot comparison, and preset save/load via XML
◆11 factory groove patterns, each storing all 16 step states, slice modes, swing, envelope, shape, width, and wash
