GLITCH THE GROOVE
Scatterit Raw
One-Knob Glitch Slicer
"One knob. Your beats start glitching themselves."
WHAT IT DOES
Scatterit Raw is the free, one-knob glitch slicer for producers who want instant chaos without the setup. Drop it on drums, loops, or vocals, turn one knob, and let the dice decide — no menus, no automation lanes, just controlled mayhem in seconds.
It listens for transients — drum hits and onsets — and on each one rolls the dice: play the slice forward, reversed, pitched, or stuttered. Low settings give occasional hiccups; high settings tip into full chaos. At zero it passes your signal through clean. Perfect for breakdowns, build-ups, transitions, or adding unpredictable energy to loops that feel too static.
THE SCATTER KNOB
SCATTER controls the intensity and density of glitch effects. At low settings, you get subtle rhythmic variations — occasional stutters and micro-repeats that add a hint of unpredictability. Push it further and the signal breaks into full glitch territory: rapid-fire chops, reverses, pitch shifts, and stutters that transform any loop into controlled chaos. Under the hood it uses spectral-flux onset detection and short raised-cosine crossfades to keep every glitch click-free, and the scatter pattern is seeded so a saved project reloads to the exact same performance.
UNDER THE HOOD
Spectral-flux onset detection — transients are found with a windowed FFT computing half-wave-rectified spectral flux against an adaptive threshold, with a refractory hysteresis period to prevent double-triggers.
Linkwitz-Riley multi-band trigger — the detection signal is split into low, mid, and high bands via Linkwitz-Riley crossovers (with an all-pass on the low band for phase coherence), and all three bands feed the detector.
Four glitch modes — each triggered slice plays as Forward, Reverse, Pitch (interpolated octave-style repitch), or Stutter (fragmented sub-slice repeats with short internal fades), rolled with fixed weighting on every hit.
Click-free slicing — slice boundaries use short raised-cosine equal-power crossfades so glitches never click or pop.
Seeded RNG & output safety — the dice come from a seeded random generator (seed-lock on by default) so patterns recall identically, and a soft clipper plus NaN/Inf guards and a hard ±2.0 limit keep the output bounded at every macro position.

Scatterit Raw gives you the glitch engine behind a single SCATTER knob. The full Scatterit adds per-effect probability, one-shot sample replacement and folder cycling, sidechain triggering, scale-locked pitch, stutter and slice-length control, bitcrush, freeze, and Delta listen.
Yes. Scatterit Raw is a Universal Binary that runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs.
Scatterit Raw ships as AU, VST3, and a Standalone app for macOS. It's a Universal Binary that runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs in any AU/VST3 host — Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Reaper, Bitwig, Cubase, and more.
Yes — the single SCATTER macro is the only host-automatable parameter, so it's the one thing that shows up in your DAW's automation list. Every internal engine control is wrapped as non-automatable, so it stays saved with your project but never clutters automation. The scatter pattern is also seeded, so a saved project reloads to the exact same glitch performance.
