WHAT IT IS

Searex chops, stutters, and gates your audio in perfect time with your DAW's BPM. Draw patterns on the visual step sequencer to carve rhythmic movement into pads, vocals, synths, and drums — from subtle groove to full-on trance-gate stutter. Shape each step's volume, pan, and envelope, then keep your low end solid with the Sub-Anchor while the gate works the mids and tops.

◆Sub-Anchor — phase-coherent Linkwitz-Riley 4th-order crossover at 150Hz lets sub-bass bypass the gating so the low end stays solid
◆Gate Filter — per-step zero-delay TPT state-variable low-pass sweep (0–100%) for tonal movement
◆Depth (0–100%) sets gate duck amount, Dry/Wet mix (0–100%), output gain (-24 to +6 dB), and a 10Hz DC blocker
◆Output tanh soft clipper eases the signal past a 0.9 threshold into a hard ±2.0 ceiling for safe, musical peaks

How does the step sequencer work?

Choose 4, 8, 16, or 32 steps and sync the grid to 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, or 1/32 notes, with a Half/Normal/2x speed multiplier. Click and drag to draw per-step volume and per-step stereo pan, pick an envelope shape (Square, Smooth, Ramp Up, Ramp Down), and add Swing to shift the groove. One-click Invert and Randomize give instant variations.

What is the Sub-Anchor?

Sub-Anchor uses a phase-coherent Linkwitz-Riley 4th-order crossover at 150Hz to let sub-bass bypass the gating. The gate works only the mids and highs, so your low end stays solid and anchored while everything above it grooves.
