One VAPOR knob turns any sound into a lush, moving spectral wash. A real FFT (STFT) spectral engine dissolves your signal into an ambient smear of mist and air — sharp transients and hard edges melt into soft, ever-evolving texture. No menus, no setup: feed it audio, turn up VAPOR, and vaporize. Made for vocals, pads, synths, and FX returns.

FFT overlap-add spectral engine — a real short-time Fourier transform (STFT) with a Hann window and 4× overlap (hop = FFT/4) drives all the spectral processing.

Per-bin spectral processing — smear (phase randomization), blur (inter-frame magnitude leakage), tilt (spectral EQ), and stereo spread (per-bin decorrelation with a low-band mono lock) are applied bin by bin, then resynthesized.

Energy conservation — when smear or tilt changes the spectral energy, the frame is renormalized so the level stays consistent as you push the knob.

Constant latency — the FFT size is pinned to 2048, so the reported latency never changes while you sweep and the host always gets a stable figure with no mid-stream hiccups.

Output safety — the dry/wet mix with a small output bias for headroom is followed by a soft clipper and a NaN/Inf-safe hard limiter, and the DC and Nyquist bins are zeroed each frame to keep the wash clean.
