Carvix

Sample Slicer & MIDI Sampler

"Drop a sample, auto-slice on transients, map each slice to a MIDI note — then play it back with 4-voice poly, ADSR, ±24st pitch, granular, and auto-key. Your whole crate, playable."

Carvix is a MIDI-driven sampler instrument that turns any audio file into a playable kit. Drop in a loop or one-shot (up to 60 seconds), let it auto-slice on the transients, and every chop maps to an ascending MIDI note from C3 — trigger them live from your keyboard or sequence them in the piano roll. Fine-tune slices, retune to your project key, and shape the sound with granular, bit-crush, tempo-synced pump, and mono-low tools, all inside one instrument track.

FEATURES

Slicing & Mapping

Transient auto-slicing — drop a sample and Carvix slices it at the transients automatically
Per-slice MIDI mapping — each slice lands on its own MIDI note for instant replay and re-sequencing
Drag-and-drop loading — drop any sample into the plugin to load it
Auto-key — detects the key of your material to help it sit in your track

Playback Engine

4-voice polyphony — play chords and overlapping slices with oldest-note voice stealing
ADSR envelope — shape attack, decay, sustain, and release per note
±24 semitone pitch — pitch playback with Hermite 4-point interpolation for clean resampling
Granular playback — smear and texture your samples into new sounds

Slice Control

Threshold & Min Slice — dial transient sensitivity and minimum slice length, then Re-Slice to re-run detection
Manual edits — drag slice markers by hand with zero-crossing snapping for clean, click-free cuts
Choke groups — right-click slices into a group so triggering one cuts the others, like a hi-hat pair
Play Mode — One-Shot, Gate, or Loop playback per your part

Sound Design

Bit-crush — Off, 16-bit, or 12-bit for lo-fi grit
Pump — tempo-synced sidechain-style ducking with adjustable depth and rate (1/4, 1/2, 1/1)
Mono Low — Linkwitz-Riley crossover folds lows below a set frequency to mono, with a solo to audition the low band
Swing & Fade Out — offbeat timing push plus a de-click release fade

Workflow

RND & A/B — randomize playback parameters and compare two states instantly
Scatter — shuffle the slice-to-note mapping for happy accidents
Slice Seed & Export MIDI — copy/paste slice positions as a shareable string, or write the mapping out as a .mid file

Under the Hood

MIDI-triggered instrument — renders voices from MIDI, ignoring the input signal
Click-free recall — anti-pop ducking keeps preset and state changes clean
Universal Binary — native on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Carvix?

Carvix is a sample slicer and MIDI-triggered sampler built for tech house and electronic music producers. Drop a sample, auto-slice on transients, map each slice to a MIDI note, and play it with 4-voice polyphony, ADSR, ±24 semitone pitch, granular playback, and auto-key. Available in AU, VST3, and Standalone for macOS.

How do I get Carvix?

Carvix is exclusive to Creative Pass holders. The Creative Pass is a one-time NFT mint on Base chain — no subscriptions, own it permanently. Once you hold the Creative Pass, connect your wallet on remiblaze.com to unlock the download.

Is Carvix an instrument?

Yes. Carvix is a MIDI-triggered instrument — it renders audio from a loaded sample and incoming MIDI notes rather than processing an insert. In Logic it appears under AU Instruments; in Ableton load it on a MIDI/instrument track.

How does auto-slicing work?

Carvix detects transients in your dropped sample and slices at those points, then maps each slice to a MIDI note so you can replay and re-sequence the parts from your keyboard or piano roll — instant chopped drums, vocals, and loops.

Does Carvix support Apple Silicon?

Yes. Carvix is a Universal Binary that runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs.
