Clampit

Mastering Limiter

"A clean, loud, streaming-ready ceiling for your master bus — with three knee characters, LUFS metering, and program-dependent auto release."

Clampit is a lookahead true-peak limiter built to sit last on your master or bus. Set a ceiling your audio can't cross, dial in the release and knee character you want, and check your work with delta monitoring and built-in loudness metering. Signed and notarized on macOS, code-signed on Windows. AU, VST3, CLAP, AAX and Standalone on macOS; VST3, CLAP and Standalone on Windows — it installs cleanly and gets out of your way.

FEATURES

Three Knee Characters

◆KNOCK (hard knee) — transparent and surgical for clean limiting
◆GLUE (6 dB soft knee) — smooth quadratic curve for musical limiting
◆CLOBBER (hard + tanh saturation) — aggressive character for heavy limiting with harmonic color
◆~20ms anti-pop crossfade on knee mode changes — no clicks during live transitions

Core Limiter

◆Input gain 0–24 dB, ceiling −6.0 to 0.0 dB, release 1–1000ms with skewed range
◆Lookahead 0–5ms with automatic DAW latency compensation
◆Stereo link 0–100% blend between independent L/R and fully linked stereo limiting
◆4x polyphase IIR oversampling for true peak inter-sample peak detection

LUFS Metering & Analysis

◆Full BS.1770 K-weighted LUFS-M (400ms), LUFS-S (3s), and LUFS-I (integrated, gated) metering
◆Crest factor readout (color-coded: green 6–8 dB, yellow 4–6 dB, red <4 dB)
◆GR waveform trace: 256-sample scrolling history with peak hold line
◆Clip counter, mono check, TPDF dithering (16-bit and 24-bit modes)

Workflow

◆Dual-stage program-dependent auto release adapts to crest factor and GR depth
◆Constant Loudness (LINK) — applies inverse of input gain for bias-free A/B comparison
◆Delta monitor — isolate exactly what the limiter removes, with 5 Hz DC blocker
◆Loudness-matched bypass, A/B comparison, and 15 factory presets

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is Clampit free?

Yes. Clampit is completely free, with no account, no subscription and no trial period. Clampit Raw is the one-knob version if you want something even simpler.

Does Clampit run on Apple Silicon and Windows?

Yes. Clampit is a Universal Binary that runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs, and it also ships as a 64-bit build for Windows 10 and 11.

Which formats and systems does Clampit support?

AU, VST3, CLAP, AAX and a Standalone app on macOS 15.0 or later, as a Universal Binary for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. VST3, CLAP and a Standalone app on Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. AAX ships on macOS only.

How do I install Clampit?

On macOS, double-click the .pkg installer and follow the prompts; it installs every format at once. On Windows, run the .exe installer. The macOS build is code-signed and notarized by Apple and the Windows build is Authenticode signed, so neither needs a security override. No dongle and no extra account.

How is Clampit different from Clampit Raw?

Clampit Raw is the one-knob version: the same engine behind a single macro, with the detailed controls hidden. Clampit gives you the full control set.
