Flarex

Stereo Imaging & Widening

"Power-constant stereo width with mono-compatible decorrelation — wide and lush up top, tight and mono down low, with phase-safety built in."

Flarex is a mid/side stereo imaging tool that lets you push width from full mono up to 200% using mono-compatible all-pass widening that survives a mono fold-down. A Linkwitz-Riley bass-mono crossover keeps your low end tight and centered, while a built-in vectorscope with a Cloud Density heatmap and a correlation meter let you read your stereo picture in real time. Signed and notarized for macOS as AU, VST3, and Standalone.

INSTALLATION

3 steps. Takes 30 seconds.

1

RUN THE INSTALLER

Double-click the .pkg file. Choose AU, VST3, or Standalone.

Signed & notarized by Apple — it installs cleanly, no security warnings, no "Open Anyway."
2

CHOOSE YOUR FORMATS

The installer lets you pick AU (Logic, GarageBand, Ableton), VST3 (Ableton, Reaper, Bitwig, FL Studio), and the Standalone app. Install takes a few seconds.

3

OPEN YOUR DAW

Restart your DAW and rescan plugins if needed. Find Flarex under Remi Blaze in your plugin list.

  • Logic Pro: Audio Effects › Remi Blaze › Flarex
  • Reaper: FX › VST3 › Flarex
Security Note: Flarex is built by Remi Blaze and is signed & notarized by Apple, so it installs cleanly with no security warnings. The plugin is safe to use — no background processes, no network calls, no telemetry. Downloads are distributed via GitHub Releases.

FEATURES

Core Imaging

Stereo Width 0–200% — power-constant M/S scaling from full mono to unity, then mono-compatible all-pass decorrelation widening with no mono phase cancellation
Mid/Side Gain — independent ±12 dB boost/cut for center and stereo content with 20ms smoothing
Bass Mono (20–500 Hz) — Linkwitz-Riley crossover collapses low-frequency side content to mono for tight, club-safe low end
Mono Check — collapse to mono for compatibility checks (monitoring only, no change to your printed output) via a click-free crossfaded toggle
Output Gain −24 to +6 dB with smoothed control

Phase Safety

Phase-Lock Sentinel — hysteresis correlation monitor pulls width to 50% on dangerous phase relationships and restores smoothly
Deep-Dive Hard Mute — emergency collapse to mono on severe phase inversion with 10ms click-free crossfade
Hard limiter and per-sample NaN/Inf protection on every output sample
Denormal prevention as the first line of the audio path

Visualization

Cloud Density Heatmap — 128×128 teal-to-orange density map inside the vectorscope showing mid vs side energy
Real-time Lissajous vectorscope with age-faded accent dots
Correlation meter (−1 to +1) with color-coded MONO SAFE / CAUTION / RISK status
Input and output L/R level meters with smoothed color transitions

Snapshot & Presets

Capture Snapshot (SNAP) — clones the density heatmap, correlation anchor, and frequency blueprint for ghost-overlay A/B comparison
Cloud Density ghost overlay with GHOST opacity slider and signed correlation delta readout
11 factory presets, A/B comparison, and safety-first Dice randomization
Save/Load user presets with full snapshot state persistence

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is Flarex free?

Yes. Flarex is completely free to download and use under a proprietary freeware license. No trial, no watermark, no feature limits.

How does Flarex widen without breaking mono?

From 0–100%, Flarex uses a power-constant mid/side cos/sin law so perceived loudness stays stable as you narrow or widen. Above 100%, it uses cascaded all-pass decorrelation that adds perceived width which survives a mono fold-down — so there's no phase cancellation when your track is summed to mono.

What is the Phase-Lock Sentinel?

A hysteresis correlation monitor that watches your stereo image. When correlation drops into risky territory, it automatically eases the effective width back toward 50% and restores smoothly once the phase relationship recovers. A Deep-Dive Hard Mute collapses to mono on severe phase inversion, with click-free crossfades throughout.

What is Bass Mono for?

Bass Mono uses a Linkwitz-Riley crossover to collapse low-frequency side content to mono below an adjustable frequency (20–500Hz). This keeps your low end tight, centered, and club-safe while the rest of the spectrum stays wide.

What is the Cloud Density heatmap?

A 128×128 teal-to-orange density map rendered inside the vectorscope. Teal shows side-heavy energy and orange shows mid-heavy energy, so you can read at a glance where your stereo energy sits. Use SNAP to freeze a ghost overlay and compare A/B as you tweak.

Does Flarex support Apple Silicon?

Yes. Flarex is a Universal Binary that runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs.
