ORBITIX

Stereo Width & Shimmer

Open up your mix with wide, three-dimensional stereo and shimmering high-end air — without wrecking your mono compatibility. Orbitix widens the stereo field above an adjustable crossover while the bass stays rock-solid in mono, then a parallel high-frequency exciter adds polish and presence. Three width algorithms, a shimmer exciter, and Safe Mode phase protection give you wide, airy mixes that survive mono fold-down, club PAs, and streaming normalization.

FEATURES

Everything the one-knob SPACE macro hides — unlocked and independently controllable.

Width Engine

Haas — inter-aural delay widening for an instant sense of space
Mid-Side — classic M/S matrix with side-boost gain for controlled width
Stereo Shuffle — frequency-dependent widening that keeps the bass anchored

Width Character & Crossover

Three width characters — Clean (pure delay), Warm (6 kHz low-pass), and Diffuse (4-stage allpass for a dense, natural spread)
Mono-anchor crossover — Linkwitz-Riley at 60–400 Hz keeps sub-bass mono before widening
Indestructible low end regardless of width settings

Shimmer Exciter

Parallel high-frequency exciter with 8x oversampling and tanh-based saturation for smooth, anti-aliased harmonics
Three shimmer modes — Air (even harmonics), Silk (soft polynomial), Sizzle (odd-harmonic edge)
Tunable Shimmer Freq (4–16 kHz) sets the exciter's high-pass corner to isolate the air band
Shimmer amount (0–100%) blends in air and sparkle to taste

Phase Protection & Monitoring

Real-time phase-correlation monitoring keeps an eye on your mono compatibility
Safe Mode — automatically pulls back width when correlation drops too low, keeping the mix mono-safe
Mono Preview — hold to fold L+R and hear how the mix translates to mono
Phase-Flip Preview — hold to monitor L−R and expose stereo-only content

Performance & Creative

Black Hole — collapse to mono, then explode back to ultra-wide stereo for dramatic drops
Mix — dry/wet blend for parallel spatial processing
Output — level trim (-12 to +6 dB) for honest A/B comparison
Click-free bypass with latency-compensated pass-through

Presets & Workflow

12 factory presets spanning vocals, hats, master glue, and mono-check scenarios
Save and load your own presets as .preset files, plus Randomize for instant inspiration
DC blocker (5 Hz high-pass) preserves headroom after processing
Universal binary — native on Apple Silicon and Intel

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is Orbitix a paid plugin?

Yes. Orbitix is a paid plugin — a one-time purchase with no subscription. Once you own it, updates are yours. If you want to try the core width and shimmer engine first, Orbitix Raw is free.

What width algorithms does Orbitix have?

Three: Haas (inter-aural delay widening), Mid-Side (classic M/S matrix with side-boost gain), and Stereo Shuffle (frequency-dependent widening that keeps the bass anchored). Each pairs with a Width Character — Clean, Warm, or Diffuse.

Will Orbitix wreck my mono compatibility?

No — that's the whole point. A mono-anchor crossover (Linkwitz-Riley, 60–400 Hz) keeps sub-bass mono before widening, and Safe Mode automatically pulls back width when phase correlation drops too low. Real-time correlation monitoring and Mono Preview let you verify the fold-down at any time.

What is the Shimmer exciter?

A parallel high-frequency exciter running at 8x oversampling with tanh-based saturation for smooth, anti-aliased harmonics. Three modes — Air (even harmonics), Silk (soft polynomial), and Sizzle (odd-harmonic edge) — and a tunable Shimmer Freq (4–16 kHz) isolate the air band.

What are Black Hole and Safe Mode?

Black Hole is a performance effect that collapses the mix to mono then explodes it back to ultra-wide stereo for dramatic drops. Safe Mode is always-on phase protection that reduces width when correlation gets risky, so your mix survives mono fold-down, club PAs, and streaming normalization.

Does Orbitix support Apple Silicon?

Yes. Orbitix is a Universal Binary that runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs, as AU, VST3, and Standalone.
