Furnix

Compressor with Saturation

"A feed-forward compressor with three saturation modes and transient Punch — control, density, and analog weight in one move."

Furnix is a full-featured dynamics compressor wrapped in a dark, brushed-metal, ember-orange interface built for tech house, techno, and electronic music. It pairs peak/RMS detection, lookahead, and flexible sidechain filtering with a built-in saturation stage — so you get transparent control and analog heat from a single plugin. Live gain-reduction metering and Delta monitoring let you hear exactly what it's doing to every part of your mix.

FEATURES

Compression Engine

Feed-forward topology with adjustable soft knee (0–30 dB) for clean, predictable compression
Peak / RMS detection toggle and an envelope follower with a hold circuit (0–50 ms)
Lookahead up to 5 ms tames sharp transients without sacrificing attack punch
Continuously variable stereo link (0–100%) from dual-mono to fully linked stereo compression

Heat & Punch

Three saturation modes — Coals (soft tanh), Flame (cubic), Blast (asymmetric)
Auto-gain compensation and 4x oversampling on the Heat stage keep loudness stable and anti-alias the harmonics
Heat Link — drives more saturation as compression increases, so harder squeeze means more character
Punch — transient detection re-injects attack energy that compression removes, without touching sustain

Sidechain & Release

Sidechain HPF (20–500 Hz) prevents kick and sub energy from triggering unwanted pumping
SC Tilt mid-focused detection, external sidechain input, and SC Listen audition mode
Grid-Sync release locked to musical divisions (1/4, 1/8, 1/8T, 1/16, 1/8.) from host BPM
Auto-Release blends release time by crest factor, with hysteresis smoothing to stay grain-free

Monitoring & Presets

Parallel Mix knob for New York-style blend, plus Delta mode to hear exactly what the compressor removes
Real-time gain-reduction metering plus stereo input and output level meters
Crest-factor health meter reads peak-to-RMS ratio in dB — see at a glance whether your mix is pristine, club-standard, or over-crushed
Live transfer-curve display visualizes the compressor's input/output response, so you can see the threshold, ratio, and knee as you dial them in
Zero-allocation audio thread, static latency reporting, and dual soft clipping keep it safe and PDC-stable
16 presets tuned for tech house, A/B comparison, and save/load preset management

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is Furnix free?

Yes. Furnix is completely free to download and use under a proprietary freeware license. No trial, no watermark, no feature limits.

What saturation modes does Furnix have?

Three Heat modes built into the compressor: Coals (soft tanh — warm, tube-like), Flame (cubic — brighter, more aggressive odd harmonics), and Blast (asymmetric — even harmonics for analog weight). The Heat stage is 4x oversampled with auto-gain compensation to keep loudness stable.

What is Punch?

Punch uses a fast dual-time-constant transient detector to re-inject attack energy that compression removes — without touching the sustain. Dial it in to restore snap and impact to drums and transient material after heavy compression.

What is Delta mode?

Delta lets you hear only what the compressor is doing to your signal — it outputs the difference between the dry input and the compressed output. It's a forensic tool for understanding exactly how the compression and saturation are shaping your sound.

How does the sidechain work?

Furnix has a sidechain HPF (20–500 Hz) so kick and sub energy don't trigger unwanted pumping, plus an SC Tilt mid-focused detection mode, an external sidechain input for classic ducking, and SC Listen to audition the detector signal while you tune it.

Does Furnix support Apple Silicon?

Yes. Furnix is a Universal Binary that runs natively on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs.
